BREAKING CHAINS
Out on the sea's landscape Up on the swell's tide glory I seek the norhward cape But everywhere wind's screaming
Over the blue-green hills Across a quilt of fall leaves I reach to cross Your will But nowhere are You singing
Down in the valley's calm Beneath a beam of moonshine Stuck in Your empty palm But still my hope is waking
Out on the sea's broad back Up on Your Christmas morning I see the sun's dawn break But Light secures my mooring
Can't fill this empty space Breaking the chains of my fate Frozen in death's embrace But Hope's face twists the turning |
